Dashboard Manager

The Dashboard Manager module is used to create and manage dashboard level configuration settings.

This module functions outside the realm of the normal permissions hierarchy.  It can be viewed by any user with membership in Site Administrators or Security Administrators site-level roles with no regard to permissions assigned to the tab on which the module is placed.  For more information on the roles referenced in this section please see the role based security topic.  Administrative users can configure additional module settings by clicking the  button.

This module presents a sortable data grid that allows you to view the names and accessibility of all dashboards in the system,

Members of the Security Administrators role can only view the list of dashboards and view the accessibility whereas members of the Site Administrators role have considerably greater ability and perform all aspects of dashboard configuration as detailed below.

Dashboard Attributes

The following attributes are exposed through the editor:

Dashboard Name: This is the display name of the dashboard and may not be blank and must be unique within the system.  This dashboard name will appear on the dashboard switch and also in the title bar on some web browsers.

Dashboard Code:  This is the unique code for the dashboard used in generating drill paths to objects within the dashboard and in the display URL.  Like the dashboard name this value may not be blank and must be unique within the system.  Additionally, the dashboard code can only contain letters and numbers - no punctuation characters or spaces are allowed.  Finally, and this is important, it is NOT advisable to change this value once established as it may be used in macro commands and integration component drill paths and changing the value will break those references.

General Tab

Logo Image URL: This is an optional URL for an image that may be displayed in the dashboard header portion of the page.  URL may be prefixed with ~/Uploads if stored in the disk image cache folder.

Storage Limit (MBs): This is the maximum number of megabytes that the dashboard has available for storage.

Organization Unit: If provided this would be the LDAP path to the Active Directory organization unit that contains the accounts that belong to and are managed by this dashboard using the Windows Account Manager module.

Style Sheet: Choose the stylesheet that provides the default appearance for the dashboard.  Stylesheets are managed from the StyleSheet Manager module.

Title Image URL: This is an optional URL to an image file that will be rendered into the header in place of the dashboard name in order to have the name appear with a specific logo or font.  URL may be prefixed with ~/Uploads if stored in the disk image cache folder.

Expiration Date: Optional date at which point the dashboard will become disabled and available only to members of the Site Administrators role.

Module Skin: Choose the module skin that provides the default appearance of all modules in the dashboard unless overridden at the tab or module levels explicitly.  Module skins are managed from the Module Skin Manager module.
