pasUNITY is evolving our messaging ecosystem to include pasPortal blogging and Exchange 2016 Modern Public Folders. You may be wondering about the easiest way to take advantage of these new capabilities. The answer is to use the tool that the majority of you are already using - Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA).
Viewing of RSS feeds in Outlook and Outlook Web Access require that the Windows-based Outlook first be used to add the RSS feed to your Exchange server account. After this the content is viewable in both places. From pasPortal, locate the blog that you are interested in click the RSS feed button (universally looks like ). Copy the resulting URL from browser and then switch to Outlook. In the navigation pane look for another folder with same icon named RSS Feeds. Right-click and choose Add a New RSS Feed. Paste the URL from the previous step into the New RSS Feed dialog and save. That is it. Microsoft Exchange is now monitoring the blog and collecting content for you and it will be visible in both the full Outlook client and in Outlook Web Access. Modern Public Folders require a couple of extra steps to get into. For a tutorial on how to setup up your Windows-based Outlook client go here. It contains a complete description of how to configure your default view for Folders mode and how to setup favorite folders. There is not a 100% feature parity between the two interfaces and as such most users will probably feel more comfortable in the full Outlook client rather than using the OWA version - but if you are mobile it will do in a pinch to access most content. |
