The Update File In DropBox job step type is used to update attributes of data files in a Matrix and optionally take further queue actions.
Matrix functionality requires either a subscription to the hosted pasPortal collaboration application or the development of custom interfaces.
This job step type extends basic job step functionality. For details common to all job step types click here.
In addition to the common attributes shared by all job steps this job step type has the following attributes:
DropBox tab:
•Apply File Date Macro: When checked targeted files will have their date changed using a provided macro expression. This will result in moving the file from one date to another in the matrix.
•Apply File Name Macro: When checked targeted files will have their file name changed using a provided macro expression. Ensure that the file extension matches the Content Type.
•Apply Content Type Macro: When checked targeted files will have their content type changed using a provided macro expression. This should correspond to the extension of the File Name.
•Apply Tag Macro: When checked targeted files will have their tag changed using a provided macro expression. This may impact the processing of jobs and selection by the DropBox impeller.
•Apply Contributor Macro: When checked targeted files will have their contributor changed using a provided macro expression. This should be in the form of an email address.
•Actions: Actions to be taken in addition to changing the attributes listed above.
•Purge Work in Queue: Removes all pending work from the Work queue that references updated data files.
•Reprocess Impellers: Reprocesses the conditions that enqueue work (even if they have already been run before).
•Restrictions:
•Allow Work in Queue: Job will fail if updated files have any work in the queue unless this option is checked.
•Selection Mode: Determines the type of logic used to target the DropBox to update files in.
•Data File ID: Choose this option when the ID of the data file you wish to target is explicitly known.
•Data File ID: The ID of the data file to update in the system.
•Specific DropBox: Choose this option when the exact column and row values of the DropBox can be determined when authoring the job.
•DropBox: The exact DropBox (specified using column/row) that the file is to be found in.
•Dynamic DropBox: Choose this option when the column and row of the DropBox cannot be determined until the job is executing.
•Matrix: The name of the matrix that contains the DropBox you wish to target.
•Matrix Column Name: The name of the column used to target the DropBox.
•Matrix Row Name: The name of the row used to target the DropBox.
•Allow Reference Files: When checked the Target Date can be omitted enabled the removal of reference files.
•Target Date: The periodic date/time value to target for the data file(s) being updated. Time is ignored.
•File Name Filter (Optional): A regular expression that can be used to further refine the targeting of a file by name.
•Tag Filter (Optional): A regular expression that can be used to further refine the targeting of a file by tag.
•Data File ID Output Parameter (Optional): If a value is provided the DataFileID of the data file saved will be stored in a parameter named for the value provided. This is only applicable when a single data file is updated.
•Allow Zero Matches: Check this box to allow the job step to succeed even if no data files match the criteria for update.
•Allow Multiple Matches: Check this box to allow the job step to succeed even if multiple data files match the criteria for update.
The job will fail if the Processor Agent account does not have permission to save the file to destination path specified.
After making changes be sure to press the Update button to save your changes.
