Click on an application icon to launch it.  Depending on the type of application there are three different ways they will be handled.

URL: If the shortcut is a URL the browser will open the link in a new browser tab.

Remote Desktop: If the shortcut is for a Remote Desktop or RemoteApp a .RDP file will be generated and downloaded to the browser.

The browser may be configured launch the .RDP file with the installed Remote Desktop client automatically.  In this case the end user should accept the prompts to connect and provide your credentials to the Remote Desktop client.  The end user will be presented with an instance of the Hosted Application shortly.

The browser may be configured to automatically save the .RDP file to a predetermined location.  In this case the end user must navigate to the default save location and launch the downloaded shortcut with the installed Remote Desktop Client, supplying the requisite information to connect with the Hosted Application.

The browser may be configured to prompt for action every time a .RDP file is encountered.  The end user must follow the browsers prompts and choose the desired method of handling the .RDP file; connecting afterward with the above defined steps.

Please refer to the support documentation for the desired Internet browser for more information regarding the configuration of default file handling.

Citrix: If the shortcut is for a Citrix a .RDP file will be generated and downloaded to the browser.

Functionally similar to the steps required for Remote Desktop.

A supported Citrix ICA client is required to be installed locally.

NOTE: Applications published using Microsoft Remote Desktop require a client that supports version 7.0 of the Remote Desktop protocol.  Shortcuts to Microsoft Windows and Max OS X versions of the client can be in the header of the module.  Additional prerequisites are detailed here.
