Prerequisites

pasPortal makes use of several modern design tools, technologies, and frameworks to provide the best possible experience for our users.

Browser Support

pasPortal web applications and web services are accessible via Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS) over TCP port 443 from Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) version 5 compliant web browser software that includes support for Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) version 3 and the JavaScript scripting language.

We recommend Internet Explorer 11 from Microsoft or the latest version of Chrome available from Google as the preferred browsers for the best possible experience.  Other modern web browsers may be used and as long as they are HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript compliant but it should be noted that we do not necessarily test on these platforms and to obtain support for client issues only Internet Explorer and Chrome will be supported.

Remote Desktop and RemoteApp Support

To access applications in the pasUnity Enterprise Data Center hosted using either Remote Desktop Services or RemoteApp technology your end-user device must have the Remote Desktop Connection version 7.0 or higher client installed.  The Remote Desktop Connection software is included by default in modern versions of the Windows operating system.  Downloads and updates are made available by Microsoft for supported versions of Windows and even for select Mac devices and the Windows Phone platform.

In addition to requiring the Remote Desktop Connection client software certain network ports must also be open in the client environment.  TCP port 3389 is required for direct connection.  UDP 3389 (if available) can often provide an additional level of stability for some environments.  Customers working from restricted environments that do not support these ports requirements may be able to leverage our Remote Desktop Gateway infrastructure which uses the same TCP port 443 used by the pasPortal web application servers.
