The File Manager module is used to create File Trees, File Views, and File Drops for the File Viewer module.
This module functions outside the realm of the normal permissions hierarchy. It can be viewed by any user with membership in Site Administrators or Security Administrators site-level roles with no regard to permissions assigned to the tab on which the module is placed. For more information on the roles referenced in this section please see the role based security topic. Administrative users can configure additional module settings by clicking the button.
A File Tree is a root entity that houses File Drops and File Views. A File Drop is a file repository that resides within the pasPortal. A File View is a collection of at least one File Drop.
The File Viewer module is then configured to display defined File Views and their child File Drops within a specified File Tree.
Administrative users may define File Trees, File Views, and File Drops. There is no implicit permission to these entities. A role must be explicitly granted access to File Views and File Drops created in this module to enable use.
