Impersonation

Account impersonation is an advanced option available to members of the Site Administrators and Security Administrators site-level system roles which allow an administrative user to temporarily enter the security context of another user.  This capability is useful if the administrative user needs to see what the actual end user sees while troubleshooting support requests and can also be used to release locks or rollback pending changes if the account in question is unavailable or unable to perform such actions.

Impersonation can be invoked in multiple places in the user interface wherever the  button is visible.  Impersonation ends when the administrative user impersonates another account, logs off from the system, or presses the  button from the portal navigation menu.

NOTE: Impersonation is a critical system function and use of this function is audited and can be seen in the System Events module.
