Matrix Reporting

The Matrix Reporting job step type is used to scan a range of dates for selected columns and rows in one or more Matrix and conditionally send email notifications to recipients based on a user-configured notification type.

Matrix functionality requires either a subscription to the hosted pasPortal collaboration application or the development of custom interfaces.

When searching for files the frequency of a Matrix Column is observed ensuring that non-frequency dates are not scanned for missing files.  Reference files are also not scanned.

At the conclusion of the job each recipient will receive a single email notification that summarizes all of the monitor exceptions tracked by the job step. Each notification is to a single email address and will be sent in HTML format with the body being an HTML table that contains the data for review.

This job step type extends basic job step functionality.  For details common to all job step types click here.

In addition to the common attributes shared by all job steps this job step type has the following attributes:

Start Date Macro: A macro expression that resolves to the first date (inclusive) to begin searching for missing files.  Cannot be more than one year away from the Stop Date.  Default is yesterday.

Stop Date Macro: A macro expression that resolves to the last date (inclusive) to begin searching for missing files.  Cannot be more than one year away from the Start Date.  Default is yesterday.

Email Subject Macro: A macro expression that provides the email subject for notification email messages.  The default is the name of the job.

Email Address Macro: A macro expression that provides the email addresses for all global recipients who will receive notifications for all missing files.

Notification Mode: Select from a variety of combination of events to audit and report on:

Missing: Reports on each DropBox that does not have the number of expected files in it.

Failure: Reports on each file in each DropBox that has exceptions associated with it.

Activity: Audits each file in each DropBox and details the status of all work pertaining to the files.

Matrix Browser: The matrix browser allows you to view drill into a matrix and see all contained columns.  Columns can then be drag-and-dropped onto the Matrix Monitor grid for configuration.

Matrix Monitor Grid: Displays a list of Matrix Monitor items that contain the criteria for determining if files are missing from a drop box.  Drag-and-drop column from the Matrix Browser.

Matrix Name: The name of the matrix to search.

Matrix Column: The name of the matrix column to search.

Matrix Row Expression: A regular expression that is used to select the matrix rows to scan for files.  Only rows that contain a DropBox for the selected column are included.

File Name Expression: A regular expression that is used to filter files in the target DropBox locations.  A blank value allows all file name values.

Tag Expression: A regular expression that is used to filter files in the target DropBox locations.  A blank value allows all tag values.

Expected: The number of files that are expected to meet the File Name and Tag regular expression filters for a target date.  If left blank (not the same as a zeo) then missing file logic will not be applied.

Email Macro: A macro expression provides the email addresses for all recipients who will receive notifications for all missing files reported by this monitor.

Missing Message Macro: A custom message that is used to help clarify for recipients what files are missing.

The following special tokens can be used in macro-able columns in the Matrix Monitor Grid:

{MATRIX-NAME} - This resolves to the name of the matrix for the monitor currently being processed.

{MATRIX-COLUMN} - This resolves to the name of the matrix column for the monitor currently being processed.

{MATRIX-ROW} - This resolves to the name of the matrix row for the monitor currently being processed.

{TARGET-DATE} - This resolves to the target date for the monitor currently being processed in ISO format.
