Test Manager

 

 

 

The Test Manager module allows administrative users to add, edit, remove, and manage tests.


This module functions outside the realm of the normal permissions hierarchy.  It can be viewed by any user with membership in Site Administrators, Security Administrators, or Dashboard Management site-level roles with no regard to permissions assigned to the tab on which the module is placed.  For more information on the roles referenced in this section please see the role based security topic.  Administrative users can configure additional module settings by clicking the  button.


Adding New Tests

Using the Test Manager (Admin) module, click on the Add button.

Define a Test Name to differentiate this test from others and to display to the end user taking the test.

Define a Passing Score(%) between 1 and 100.

Define a Timer to enforce time limits for the test taker. 0 is unlimited.

Select the Test Mode from the dropdown list.

Adaptive tests will insert additional questions from the same category if a question is answered incorrectly.

Define the Days until retake to allow the user to retake this test if failed.

Define the Days until expired to enable re-testing after a period of time if this test is passed.

Check Require admin to enable retest to only allow retaking this test after a failure if manually assigned by an administrator.

Check Allow users to review questions on completion to display a summary of questions, answers, and whether the question was answered correctly when the test is completed.

Editing Existing Tests

Using the Test Manager (Admin) module, click on the  button.

Define a Test Name to differentiate this test from others and to display to the end user taking the test.

Define a Category Name to differentiate this category from others within the test.

Define a Minimum Question Count to configure the minimum number of questions generated from this category on any given test. Adaptive tests require more questions in the category than the configured minimum amount to insert additional questions if answered incorrectly.

Editing Existing Categories

Using the Test Manager (Admin) module, click on the  button to edit a test, then click on the  button next to the target category's name.

Define a Category Name to differentiate this category from others within the test.

Adding New Questions

Using the Test Manager (Admin) module, click on the  button to edit a test, then click on the Category Name in which the new question will be added to display the Category dialog. Click the Add button.

Select the Category from the dropdown list. This value will be pre-populated with the Category that was clicked on to open the dialog.

Define a Question Name to differentiate this question from others within the test.

Select the Question Type to define how the user will answer the question.

Multiple Select will display a checkbox for each Choice defined for this question and allows multiple answers.

 When selected, check the Randomize choices? checkbox below to indicate whether or not to randomize the Choices when the test is being taken.

Multiple Choice will display a radio button for each Choice defined for this question and allows only one answer.

When selected, check the Randomize choices? checkbox below to indicate whether or not to randomize the Choices when the test is being taken.

Text Answer will display a text box to enter a free-hand text answer for this question.

 When selected, define the correct answer in the text box below.

True False will display two radio buttons - One for True, one for False.

When selected, define the correct True/False answer using the radio buttons below.

Define the Question Content. This field will display as an HTML editor with formatting options to allow syntactically correct HTML to display to the end user.

Editing Existing Questions

Using the Test Manager (Admin) module, click on the  button to edit a test, then click on the Category Name in which the new question will be added to display the Category dialog. Click the  button.

Select the Category from the dropdown list. This value will be pre-populated with the Category that the question currently belongs to.

Define a Question Name to differentiate this question from others within the test.

Select the Question Type to define how the user will answer the question.

Define a Relative Rank to determine the order this choice is displayed. This value will be ignored if the Randomize choices? checkbox is checked.

Check the Correct? checkbox to indicate this choice is a correct answer. If the question is Multiple Choice, saving a choice as the correct answer will automatically change all other choices to incorrect.
