Expense Dictionary Manager

The Expense Dictionary Manager module is used to create and manage both site and dashboard level expense dictionaries and permissions.

This module functions outside the realm of the normal permissions hierarchy.  It can be viewed by any user with membership in Site Administrators, Security Administrators, or Dashboard Management site-level roles with no regard to permissions assigned to the tab on which the module is placed.  For more information on the roles referenced in this section please see the role based security topic.  Administrative users can configure additional module settings by clicking the  button.

This module presents a sortable data grid that allows you to view then names and accessibility of all expense dictionaries in the system,

All administrative users have the ability to create dashboard-level expense dictionaries and manage permissions for those dictionaries.  Only members of Site Administrators or Security Administrators may perform these actions on site-level expense dictionaries.

Adding New Expense Dictionaries

To add a new expense dictionary, administrative users click either the green (dashboard-level) or red (site-level) add button which will open the expense dictionary editor and allow an administrative to provide the expense dictionary with a name and save it.

Editing Existing Expense Dictionaries

To edit an existing expense dictionary administrative users click the  button which will open the expense dictionary editor and allow an administrative user to either rename, clone, or delete the expense dictionary.  Additionally, you can manage expense dictionary backups and import from an external source.  Press the Backup button to create an immediate database backup of the expense dictionary.  Database backups are listed at the bottom of the editor, where you can click the Restore button next to the backup date.  Restoring an old backup will also create a new backup.  Press the Export button to export the expense dictionary as an Excel Workbook.  The expense dictionary can also be managed off-line in Excel and imported back into the database.  Use the Import button to choose a modified expense dictionary Workbook.  Importing an expense dictionary Workbook will also create a new backup.
